The SportsCow.com Male Athlete of the Week is Jordan Reed of the Wadena-Deer Creek boys' basketball team.
Reed scored the 1,000th point of his career in his final high school game as the Wolverines lost to Pequot Lakes in the Section 8AA tournament on Thursday, March 10. Going into the game he needed 18 points and finished with 24.
He finished his career with 1,003 points, becoming the 10th player to reach the milestone in Wadena, Deer Creek and W-DC school history. He joins Jeff Browne, John Greenwaldt, Mike Grieme, Marc Helmrichs, Darin Meyer, Brad Willis, Donny Tabery, Jeb Johnson and Cory Ohman in the record books.
"As this season progressed, he figured out more and more how much he can dominate a game," said Wolverines' head coach Tom VanErp. "His quickness and jumping abilities make him a very tough matchup for many teams. He drew double and sometimes triple-teams all year, so to average 19 points and 12 rebounds per game, with that kind of attention from the opponents, shows how good of a player he is and the potential to be much better at the next level."
In an attempt to get to know our AOTWs a little better, we like to ask them a few questions about their likes/dislikes, etc. Here is how Jordan answered our questionnaire:
