Former Staples-Motley Cardinal Jordan Riewer has been chosen as a “Player to Watch” during the NSIC Men’s basketball season.
Riewer is a 6’2” 185 lb. senior for the Dragons.
Last season, Riewer was fourth on the team in scoring at 10.3 points per game despite missing seven games with an injury. He appeared in 22 games and scored in double figures in 13 games.
Jordan led MSUM in assists with 72, an average of 3.3 per game and had three games with seven assists during the season. He shot team-best 93.8 percent from the free-throw line, which was third-best in all of Division II, and averaged 2.9 rebounds per game from point guard spot.
Riewer was also named to All-NSIC second team and was 59th in national in assist-to-turnover ratio.
In 2013-14, the MSUM finished with a record of 21-8 and 15-7 in the NSIC, which was good for a tie for third. This season the Dragons were picked by conference coaches to win the North Division and were ranked third overall behind Minnesota State-Mankato and Augustana.
