The ninth edition of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Volleyball weekly honors were announced Monday, October 20. Josette Glatt (Offensive) and Katie Wangberg (Setter) of Mayville State (N.D.) were selected to the weekly honors. Katherine Gonzalez of Dakota State (S.D.) was picked as NSAA Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week.
NSAA Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week Josette Glatt – Mayville State (N.D.) – 5’11”, Senior, right side – Bismarck, N.D. – Glatt had a stellar week as she recorded double-digits kills in all five matches as Mayville State (N.D.) went 4-1 record, including a 4-0 record in the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Volleyball Invitational in Forest City, Iowa. She averaged 4.4 kills pet set and recorded a hitting percentage of .447 (84 kills with 21 errors in 141 attempts). Glatt also had 12 block assists and a solo block.
NSAA Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week Katie Wangberg – Mayville State (N.D.) – 5’7”, Senior, setter – Pine River, Minn. – Wangberg had an impressive week as she recorded four double-doubles in five matches as Mayville State (N.D.) went 4-1 record, including an undefeated 4-0 record in the Waldorf (Iowa) Tournament. She had 40 set assists and 22 digs versus Waldorf, 30 assists and 10 digs versus AIB (Iowa), 57 assists and 20 digs versus Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) and 27 assists and 12 digs versus Mount Mercy (Iowa). For the week, Wangberg tallied 184 assists (9.7 assists per set) and 69 digs (3.6 digs per set).
NSAA Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week Katherine Gonzalez – Dakota State (S.D.) – 5’4”, senior, libero – Pico Rivera, Calif. – Gonzalez set a milestone for Dakota State (S.D.) after going 2-3 record for the week. She collected 21 digs in 3-1 NSAA conference victory at Presentation (S.D.) and earned her 1,000th career dig in the victory. Gonzalez also added a career-high 34 digs in four set loss to Mount Mercy (Iowa). For the week, she tallied a total of 122 digs (5.8 digs per set).
