Ashton Kapphahn of Bertha and Jenny Skoog of Menahga were recognized by the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) after the first week of the volleyball season.
The pair are teammates at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
Kapphahn, a 5'7" sophomore, was named the Northern Division Setter of the Week. Ashton directed #4 Central Lakes to a 4-0 weekend with a strong effort. Kapphahn, a 1st Team All-Division selection in 2014, had 123 assists (8.8), 21 kills (1.5), 25 digs (1.8) and 12 aces (0.9).
Skoog, a 5'9" sophomore, was chosen the as the MCAC All-Around Player of the Week in the Northern Division. Jenny had strong numbers playing all-around for the Raiders (4-0). She had 46 kills (3.2, .339 attack %) including 20 in a 3-1 win over D2 Ellsworth. In addition, the veteran MH had 41 digs (2.9), 7 aces, 5 blocks and 5 assists.
