Thanks To The Medical Teams
As we watch or broadcast high school games around central Minnesota we see them everywhere we go.
They're the trainers, doctors, ambulance drivers and others trained to help players, coaches and fans who get in trouble medically.
For hours they are never needed. Then on a routine play, there is a severe sprain, a dislocation, or a break and they spring to action.
While mom and dad and the coaching staff look on, they calm the athlete and begin treatment...from ice to a brace to a ride downtown they are there.
Often when other family matters call them. Often when they have no personal attachment to the outcome of the game they are attending.
They are trained, and from what I have seen over the years, they are good at what they do.
Thank you for being there...just in case!

Stupid Is As Stupid Does
Run Forrest run. Or is it Stupid is as Stupid does?
Is the Vikings' #1 draft pick that simple or is he getting some bad advise from his agent? Some agent that is filling his head with visions of sugar plums and chocolates?!
Mama always said I be good at Foosball...
Bryant McKinnie a big strong offensive lineman was the Vikings' #1 pick and the seventh pick overall. But he decided to wait while the other picks signed to see what he might be worth. The Vikings told him early on that they would only spend so much money on him.
Still he waits...
Then this week he tells the world that the Vikings offer of $13-million over the next 5 years is a slap in the face.
Well Red, I live just west of Hewitt and anytime you or one of your lackies want to stop by and slap me in the face with $13-million...I am ready!
Slap me high. Slap me low. Let Dennis Green slap me. Let Ranny Moss do the whoopin'...as long as I feel all $13-million I don't care!
We don't even know if this guy is the real deal. The #6 pick Ryan Sims went to Kansas City on a 6-year $16-million deal. The guy behind him #8 pick Roy Williams went to Dallas and got five years and $13.26-million.
So Bryant Mckinnie, as you can see, the Vikings offer is right in the ball park, but you are not! It's time to go to work...for the Vikings for $13-million.
Or come to my world. I'll slap you in the face with a whole lot less!
