Im Not Angry...Today
The article updates have come slow over the past few months. At first I thought it was a real case of writers block, but then I realized...I wouldn't know writers block if it jumped out from behind a parked car and bit me in the buttocks!
After all I am not a writer. I couldn't get blocked on anything I don't do. I thought if I go back and read some old articles I might get going again. That's when I found out...I am angry!
I get very worked up about stuff, most of which doesn't really matter. Plays, Prices, Wages...blah, blah, blah, blah blah!
(At this moment) I guess I just am not as angry. I don't have any idiots to pick on, no over-paid, under-worked JOCKS who make me sick. I am a gentler, kinder guy.
Of course the Wolves and the Wild gave us a pretty good treat this spring and the Twins are just good guys that are not>/i> over-paid and are playing pretty well.
The crops are in. The weather has been great. And the spring sports tournaments are over half done. Life is Good!
Storm clouds on the horizon...LaBron James gets a $90-million shoe deal! Do we know if he can play?...Detroit Lions wide-out Scotty Anderson was stabbed outside a Houston nightclub. They are calling it an "incident."
When someone leaves a knife sticking out of me...we have passed beyond "incident."
(But no anger) this week boys and girls...I am at peace with the world!

A Winter Treat
Now that the Minnesota Twins have apparently got their ducks in a row and are showing some consistency, it's time to put the 2002-03 winter sports season to bed.
For years I have complained about the length of the seasons in the NHL and NBA...always pushing beyond the middle of June. It not only seems too long...it is too long!
Look, I don't want to be listening to the Stanley Cup while grilling burgers on a hot summer night! Having said that, it has been fun having the Timberwolves and Wild in Minnesota this year.
The 'Wolves got caught this year, hooking up with a hot team that can dominate and it all came to a sudden stop. As much as I am not a big fan of the NBA, I did enjoy the energy they played with in the first three games of the series with the Lakers, especially on the defensive end of the floor.
The 'Wolves were better this year and should be better next year too!
And how about those Wild!? We all had to learn some new names this year...Walz, Ronning, Gaborik, Roloson and others...as they clutched, grabbed and dove in front of 100 mile per hour chunks of frozen rubber. They were the outcasts a few years ago--eleven of the current players were with the Wild in the expansion year. They are not a great bunch of hockey players, but they are finding a way to play as a team.
I have been the front-runner criticizing professional athletes for their lack of love for the game, the fans, the owners who give them jobs. But this winter was a treat. This summer will be fun with the Twins. I can only hope the Vikings are watching.
