In the final game of her senior season at Curry College in Massachusetts, Kylie Beltz of Pequot Lakes became the all-time leading scorer in Colonels’ women's basketball history.
Beltz, a member of the Patriots’ 2011 graduating class, scored on a left-handed layup early in the second half of a game against Emmanuel College on Wednesday, March 4.
The moment would be a highlight as #7 Curry lost to #2 Emmanuel 63-53 in the quarterfinal round of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference New England women's basketball championship. The loss ended the Colonel's season at 17-12.
Entering the game, Beltz was tied for the scoring crown with Debbi L'Italien (‘85) with 1,460 career points before setting the record. Beltz finished the game with five points for a total of 1,465.
